Most sponsorship systems are built around shortage. Engineering roles tend to sit on the lists of occupations a country has already decided it cannot fill locally, which makes them comparatively straightforward to sponsor. Product management rarely does, so an employer sponsoring a product manager usually has to make the case for that particular hire — that the candidate brings market, domain or platform experience it cannot find at home.
That is why this page is smaller than the software engineering one, and also why the roles on it are worth taking seriously: each is an employer that decided the case was worth making. What stands out in the numbers is seniority. About seven in ten of these roles are advertised at senior level or above, and genuine entry-level postings are close to non-existent — a couple in every hundred. Sponsored product hiring is almost entirely for people who have already shipped something and can show what it did. If that is you, lead with the outcome rather than the process: it is the one thing an employer justifying a sponsorship needs to see.
