Traditional search returns results that contain your keyword — sorted by date or sponsorship fee. Smart Match returns results ranked by how well you personally fit the role. A keyword "Software Engineer" search returns every SE listing; Smart Match re-sorts them so the 89/100 match appears before the 40/100 match.
Scores are computed live on each search against the current database. Since the database refreshes every 24 hours, your results are always scored against fresh, live listings.
