"Remote" and "hire from anywhere" are not the same thing
Most job boards treat remote as a single checkbox, which quietly wastes an enormous amount of applicant time. A role advertised as "remote" is usually remote within one country — the company has a legal entity there, payroll runs there, and the listing assumes you already have the right to work there. Apply from outside it and you are rejected on a technicality you were never told about.
A much smaller set of employers hire from any country, through an employer-of-record or as contractors. Those roles are genuinely open to you wherever you are. JobGlance reads each description for that distinction and stores it as its own signal, which is why the lists above are split rather than merged into one "remote" pile.
Where to start depends on where you live
If you are in a country with deep local remote inventory — the US, the UK, Germany, India — the country lists are the fastest route, because those roles are competing for a domestic pool you are part of.
If you are somewhere employers rarely register an entity, the work-from-anywhere list is the one that matters. It is smaller and more competitive, but every role on it is one you can actually be hired into, which is a far better use of an evening than fifty applications that were never open to you.
Live roles only
Remote listings go stale faster than most, because a genuinely location-free role can attract thousands of applicants in days and gets closed quickly. An archive of dead links is worse than no list at all.
New roles are ingested every evening and listings that have closed are removed within 24 hours. The counts above are recomputed on the same schedule, so what you see is what is actually open.
Common questions
Any role where the employer states the work is done remotely rather than from an office. That includes fully remote roles and remote-first roles with occasional travel, but not hybrid positions that require regular office attendance — those are filtered out.
For most remote roles, no — they are remote within one country and assume you already hold work authorisation there. The roles that are genuinely open to any country carry a "Work From Anywhere" or "Global Remote Company" badge, and are collected on the work-from-anywhere page.
Remote describes where you sit; work from anywhere describes who the employer can legally hire. A remote job in the United States is still a US job. A work-from-anywhere job has no location requirement at all, usually because the company pays through an employer-of-record or hires contractors internationally.
Rarely, and by definition they do not need to — if the work is remote, there is nothing to relocate for. If moving abroad is the goal rather than working from home, the visa sponsorship pages are the right list.
Daily. New roles are ingested each evening and roles that have closed are removed within 24 hours, so this reflects genuinely live openings rather than an archive.
